Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You generally place a bet ($1 is the usual value) to try to win a bonus jackpot that could reach $25,000. Although huge jackpots like this are very appealing, they’re also particularly complicated to win. You would need to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this bet. Also, imagine this- you play 20 hands and make the side wager each time. That’s 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker wager. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with greater odds utilizing that $20.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the complete house advantage from 2% with one zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The single number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much smaller house advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you play it, the casino edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that isn’t a error. Due to the large amount of numbers you must pick, it’s not advisable to bet on Keno very much. A number of times for fun, perhaps. But don’t waste all your money on it or you’ll immediately discover yourself broke.
